Extra Creamy Baked Macaroni and Cheese

- 1 lb elbow macaroni (or desired shape) shopping list
- 3 c. milk shopping list
- 1/2 c. half and half shopping list
- 4 TBSP butter shopping list
- 4 TBSP flour shopping list
- ~ 4 c. sharp white cheddar (not extra sharp!), separated shopping list
- ~ 1 c. muenster cheese (or similar type of cheese) shopping list
- 8 oz. cream cheese shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Under cook pasta by 2-3 mins, strain, rinse in cool water
- Heat milk and half and half in sauce pan
- Melt butter in deep pan on med heat, when bubbles add flour
- Whisk briskly for 1-2 mins
- Slowly add heated milk, continue whisking
- Heat until thick
- Add a little at a time of 2 c. sharp cheddar, 1 c. muenster, 8 oz cream cheese
- Once cheeses are melted and combined, season to taste with salt and pepper
- Add pasta and combine
- Place in 3 qt baking dish and top with remaining 2 c. sharp cheddar
- Bake about 35 mins or until bubbly and cheese on top starts to brown
