This is extremely tasty and very impressive. Easy to fix but so full of flavor everyone will think you slaved for hours to pull this together. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup oil
  • 3 pounds raw peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1 large can tomato sauce
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 2 small cans tomato paste
  • 2 cups chopped white onion
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion tops
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper
  • 6 cups of water

Directions
  1. Combine flour and oil and cook slightly to make a roux then add onions, celery, bell pepper and garlic and cook until soft.
  2. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste and remaining spices.
  3. Mix well and cook 5 minutes.
  4. Add bay leaves and 6 cups of water then simmer for 90 minutes.
  5. Add 3 pounds shrimp and cook for 15 minutes.
  6. Add parsley and onion tops and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Discard bay leaves then serve hot over fluffy rice.
