Forgot about this recipe until I found it today...Makes me feel not so guilty having a snack like this with fruit and fiber

Ingredients
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup oatmeal, quick cooking
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temp.
  • 1 jar fig preserves, 12 oz.

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar and baking soda
  3. Mix in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  4. Reserve 1/2 cup of crumb mixture
  5. Press remaining mixture into greased 9 in. square baking pan Spread fig preserves over crust
  6. Sprinkle with remaining mixture
  7. Bake 30 minutes or until top is golden brown
  8. Cool
  9. Cut into squares

I am so happy that You shared this recipe! It is all in the "Fiber" when a person reaches a 'certain' age! Of course 'Flavor' is always a Winner...just like this "5"FORK!!!!! Delight!
My Granddaughter who is learning to bake,( you can hardly keep her out of the kitchen)... will love to try this cookie recipe!
