How to make it

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°
  • Pudding:
  • 2. Place bread, raisins, and butter in a large 9" x 15" glass baking dish
  • 3. Sprinkle on cinnamon
  • 4. In a large bowl mix well the egg yolks, 1 cup of sugar, salt, 1 tsp vanilla, and milk
  • 5. Pour over bread
  • 6. Bake for 50 minutes, then let cool
  • Topping: (we decided it was already how we would like it without the added topping) But for those that want to go that extra mile…
  • 7. In a small bowl mix the egg whites, 2/3 cup of sugar, and 1/2 tsp vanilla until it peaks
  • 8. Spread over cooled mixture making peaks
  • 9. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown
