How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F and oil a baking sheet
  • In a large bowl, sift the flours, cocoa, baking powder & soda
  • Then add in the almonds, chocolate chips, sugar and salt- combine well
  • In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, vanilla and almond extract
  • Add the wet to the dry, an stir well but do not over mix
  • Use a cookie scoop to place batter onto the baking sheet
  • Use the additional 2T of chocolate chips and almonds and press it into each cookie, flattening the cookies slightly
  • Bake for 11 minutes (no longer!)
  • Cool for 1 minute (no longer) on the baking sheet, then transfer to a cooling rack immediately
