Trapped in a Loaf Meatloaf

- 1 round loaf of fFrench or Sourdough shopping list
- 1 small onion chopped shopping list
- 1 cup mushroom sliced or use a can well drained shopping list
- 2 Tbs catsup shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded shopping list
- 1/2 cup red wine shopping list
- 1 tsp garlic salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp thyme leaves shopping list
- 1 lb ground sirloin , top round or good quality beef ( you don't want very fatty beef becasue bread would soak up excess fat) shopping list
How to make it
- Cut a thin slice from top of loaf, scoop out soft insides of bread.
- Use enough bread to make 1 1/2 cups fresh crumbs.
- Save remainders for other uses
- Brown onion in a bit of oil or butter.
- Add and saute mushrooms or use canned drained ones instead.
- Mix egg and catsup.
- Stir in bread crumbs, onions, 1/2 cup of cheese, wine and seasonings.
- Mix into beef well.
- Spoon meat mixture into hollowed out bread.
- Rub entire crust with some soft butter.
- Wrap entire loaf in foil.
- Bake 375 about 1 1/2 hours.
- Fold back top foil and srpinkle meat with remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.
- Return loaf and bake a few minutes until cheese melts.
- Cool about 10 minutes or so
- To serve, cut into slices

I look forward to trying this "5"FORK!!!!! meatloaf recipe...I like the idea of baking all that goodness in a 'bread round'..perhaps I may try this in small individual 'rounds' what do you think?
