Caprese Salad

- 8oz fresh mozzarella (preferably buffalo mozzarella) shopping list
- 1-2oz fresh basil leaves, sliced into julienne shopping list
- 3 medium ripe tomatoes shopping list
- Freshly ground pepper shopping list
- Sprig of basil (for garnish) shopping list
- High-quality extra virgin olive oil (for drizzling) shopping list
How to make it
- Slice the tomatoes into ¼" slices, discarding the two ends. Slice the cheese into ¼" slices as well, quartering each slice if they are significantly larger in diameter than the tomatoes. Continue until you have an equal number of tomato and mozzarella slices and arrange on a plate, alternating the two.
- Sprinkle with julienned basil.
- Drizzle with olive oil and fresh pepper and garnish with the basil sprig.
