My mom's blend of German and Polish cabbage soups: peppers and onion perk up an otherwise basic formula that's wonderfully warm and filling on a Winter's day. About 2 1/2 cups per serving.

I would suggest no alterations, I have been highly allergic to many foods since I was a child and when my daughter was born, she had more food allergies than I had. I married a wonderful man who will eat the food we can eat without complaint. I am just so happy that neither of us are allergic to tomatoes, or we would starve! This seems like a great recipie to me, I know I am supposed to submit a recipie to belong to this group, but I cannot see where on this page to do so. So, I will add it to my favorites and hope you will add me to your group. Thank you.
Mary and Sydney (and Ernie, too, even though he is not allergic to anything, he loves us so much he was willing to give up "regular" food and eat as we eat!

THis would definitely do the job! I have found that fresh lemon juice also works well as a tonic. Lemon is very healing - I swear by it with hot chile peppers.
