Crunchy Peanut Brickle Bars

- 2 cups quick cooking oats shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 cup chopped dry roasted peanuts shopping list
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup butter or margarine, melted shopping list
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk(NOT evaporated!) shopping list
- 1/2 cup peanut butter shopping list
- 1 (6-oz) package almond brickle chips OR 6 (1 3/16 oz) milk chocolate bars shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
- In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, peanuts, sugar, baking soda and salt; stir in butter until crumbly.
- Reserving 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture, press remainder on bottom of greased 13x9 inch baking pan
- Bake for 12 minutes.
- In small bowl, beat sweetened condensed milk with peanut butter until smooth; spread evenly over prepared crust to within 1/4 inch of edge.
- In medium bowl, combine reserved crumb mixture and brickle chips.
- Sprinkle evenly over peanut butter mixture; press down firmly
- Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool and cut into bars.
- Store loosely covered at room temperature.
