Ingredients
  • 1 lb (500g) Lean ground beef
  • 1 cup (250 ml) soft, fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 egg - beaten
  • 2 tblspns (30ml) milk
  • 2 tblspns ( 30ml) onion - minced
  • 1 clove garlic - minced
  • 1 tsp (5ml) salt
  • 1/2 tsp ( 2ml) pepper
  • 2/3 cup (150ml) Heinz Chili sauce
  • 2/3 cup (150ml) red currant jelly

Directions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C)
  2. Gently blend, beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, salt & pepper until combined
  3. Form into about 40 bite-sized meatballs
  4. Place meatballs on a foil lined, rimmed baking sheet
  5. Bake for about 20 mins, until cooked through
  6. Combine chili sauce & jelly in a saucepan & set over medium heat
  7. Cook, stirring, until the jelly dissolves, about 5 mins
  8. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce
  9. Reduce heat to medium/low & simmer for 10 mins
  10. Serve & watch them disappear.

Alterations


This is a delicious recipe for meatballs. The one I had used the whole bottle of chili sauce and 10 oz. of grape jelly. I've heard of it with apple jelly too. Great recipe!
