Pickled Beets Recipe
This is an old recipe my mother-in-law had. I don't know where she got it from but, they are very good.

Ingredients
  • 2 cans (1 lb. each) sliced beets
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. vinegar
  • 3 Cinnamon sticks

Directions
  1. Drain beets, reserving liquid.
  2. In small sauce pan, combine sugar,vinegar ,cinnamon sticks and reserved liquid.
  3. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly until sugar melts.
  4. Place beets in a bowl and pour in liquid. Cool and cover bowl and refridgerate for at least 8 hours.
  5. To serve, remove with slotted spoon.
  6. Makes 3 cups.

Will have to try, I have not used cinnamon in my pickled beets.


Mmmmmm and ymmmmm ~ we LOVE beets! Great "5" fork recipe and I know because this is very similar to how I make our pickled beets!
