How to make it

  • Leave some of the bacon drippings in the pan (a few tablespoons), saute the onions, pepper and garlic for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the tomatoes (don't drain) and the stock, bring to a boil
  • Add the lettuce and the bacon, bring to a boil and cook, covered for about 5 minutes.
  • Serve with a nice sour dough or your favorite bread.
