Grandma Sears Soft Molasses Creams cookies

- 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening shopping list
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 large egg yolk shopping list
- 1 cups molasses**** shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoons ground ginger shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 cup boiling water shopping list
- ****** the stronger the molasses the more molasses flavor you will have shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg yolk and molasses. Stir together baking soda, salt, flour, ginger and nutmeg. Add vinegar to water. Gradually stir flour mixture into shortening mixture, alternating with hot water. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto greased cookie sheet 3" apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Store in an airtight container.
