How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Coat a 6-cup casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • Arrange apples, pears, raisins, lemon juice and zest (in layers) on the bottom of prepared casserole dish.
  • Combine sugar and allspice in a small bowl; sprinkle evenly over fruit.
  • Combine oats, almonds and flour in same bowl; rub in margarine using fingertips. Sprinkle the topping evenly over fruit mixture.
  • Bake until fruit is tender, about 25 to 32 minutes.
  • Cut into 6 pieces.
  • Best served warm.
  • After dessert cools, I scoop out any excess liquid. Cover and refrigerate.
