Midgelet / All my dishes 1 year, 2 months ago
Another old family recipe we had for years and I usually don't see this recipe . Rye whiskey, honey, apples and coffee make for a special cake indeed! Bake it for any holiday.
Taste better as it ages, and does freeze well.
See instructions below... More

This sounds very christmassey. As my husband doesn't like the traditional English fruitcake as it is so rich, I will try this one.

It's a great cake for any holiday. Not at all like a fruit cake, just a moist, dense fragrant honey type of cake.I'm sure you will enjoy it!

oh my goodness....I rate it a five as this computer went to fast and I have to correct this....I rate it a five and not a three as it just happened too fast and so I want to re do it but I don't know how as it was a terrible mistake......I will see if I can contact the owner of this site and tell him what happened and so apologize.

The computer won't let me delete it and I feel so bad. Again, I will contact the owner of the site to correct. It is a wonderful dish and I give it five plus....

Dear Puddlewonderful, it's all right, we all make mistakes.I dread the day, that I misrate something too by accident
I think most people know the stuff I bake and cook by now.
Thanks for your kind thoughts!

I've added my five as well Midge. Great recipe! I can appreciate Puddle's predicament, since I accidentally did the same thing to someone's recipe. But I hit the back arrow, hoping to correct it and somehow couldn't get back to the recipe to make amends. Hopefully they don't hate me!

This looks really good. I think my dad would enjoy it especially. I'm saving this one and I will make a note to save it for Christmas (only 85 days left)! Thanks for sharing; an easy 5. - Natalie
