Ingredients

2-1/3 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup shortening

3/4 cup sugar,granulated or brown

1/2 cup karo syrup

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup black walnuts,coarsely chopped

1/4 cup milk

Directions

sift togeather flour,baking powder.and salt

cream shortening,add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy

add karo syrup,blend thoroughly.add eggs,one at a time,beating well after each addition

stir in vanilla and walnuts,add sifted dry ingredients,then add milk little at a time.drop by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet.bake at 375 for 12 to 15 minutes makes four dozen cookies.
