Sour Cream Coffee Cake

- 2 1/2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 pound butter shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 4 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
- 2 cups sour cream shopping list
- Streusel: shopping list
- 2/3 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 6 teaspoons sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 1 cup walnuts; chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time.
- Blend well.
- Sift all dry ingredients together.
- Add vanilla to the sour cream, mix well.
- Add the flour mixture and the sour cream mixture alternately to the butter-sugar mixture.
- Beat well until smooth.
- Butter a 10 inch angel food cake pan.
- Flour the pan and add half the batter.
- Mix the sugars and cinnamon together. Add the nuts.
- Sprinkle half the cinnamon mixture onto the batter.
- Add rest of batter and sprinkle remaining cinnamon mixture on the top.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until no batter on toothpick in center.
- Cool before removing from pan.
- NOTES : This cake travels well, too. Just wrap the cooled cake in plastic wrap and then foil. Its a treat with a cup of coffee or a cold glass of milk. Makes a large cake, serves 12
