This "Weeknight Lasagna Toss" is from the wonderful people at KRAFT. I have prepared this recipe and it's perfectly delicious.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 lb. (340 g) lean ground beef (if you want to use turkey, that would also be good)
  • Note: I used 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 2 green peppers, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Note: The recipe doesn't call for onion but I added 1 onion, chopped.
  • 1 jar (700 mL) pasta sauce
  • 1-2/3 cups water
  • 1/4 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
  • 12 oven-ready lasagna noodles (220 g), broken into quarters
  • 1 cup KRAFT 4 CHEESE ITALIANO Shredded Cheese
  • Note: I added some freshly chopped parsley to the ingredients.

Directions
  1. Brown meat in large saucepan and drain.
  2. Add peppers, garlic, pasta sauce, water and dressing and bring to a boil. Stir in noodles and cover.
  3. Cook on medium-low heat 10 to 15 minutes or until noodles are tender, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Sprinkle with cheese; cover.
  6. Let stand 5 min. or until cheese is melted.

  9. Stir 1/2 cup ricotta cheese into noodle mixture before sprinkling with shredded cheese.
  10. Shortcut:
  11. Traditional lasagna can take up to 2 hours to prepare. Our version only takes 40 minutes. You save almost 1-1/2 hours!
  12. Substitute:
  13. Substitute 12 regular lasagna noodles, broken into small pieces, for the oven-ready noodles. Increase water to 2 cups and cook 30 min., stirring occasionally.
