Ingredients
  • 2 Tb flour, divided
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp season-all seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 slices chicken breast
  • 2 Tb Olive oil
  • 1 can Cambells soup chicken broth
  • Optional:
  • 1/2 cup pitted whole dates, sliced
  • 1/3 cup whole almonds
  • White rice:
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cup water

Directions
  1. Prepare the white rice: In a rice cooker, add 1 cup white rice, 1 tsp salt, 2 cup water. Click on.
  2. Prepare the seasoned dredge: In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon, seasoned salt, cumin, tumeric and 1/2 tbl flour. Stir. Remove 1 tsp spice mixture and set aside in a finger bowl.
  3. Spread the seasoned dredge mixture on a paper plate and use to dredge the chicken slices. Set the chicken slices aside.
  4. Heat 2 tb olive oil in a skillet. When hot, add the chicken slices and friy. Turn as the slices brown. When white through and through, remove and dry on a paper towel.
  5. Add the remaining flour to a small bowl and add several tbl chicken broth. Stir.
  6. Add the remaining chicken broth to the skillet. When bubbly, add the broth/flour mixture and allow the mix to thicken into a gravy. Sprinkle with the seasoning spice mixture.
  7. When the rice is finished, remove and serve with chicken breast slice and gravy mix.
  8. To be authentic, one would add the dates and almonds to the gravy. If you try this, let me know what it's like. I didn't have any on hand to try. The simple gravy was flavorful enough for me.

Yes!! I too will cook this recipe. One of my goals is to widen my exposure to savory dishes with cinnamon. I have a little pkg of "7 spices".
any ideas how to use? (No lamb) preferably veggie, but do chicken and fish.

thankks lots!!

Oh, there are a bunch of things you can do with "7 spices." Cinnamon is also great on pork chops.
