Ingredients
- Cake:
- The ingredients are simple, but don’t substitute.
- 1 box Duncan Hines Butter Yellow cake mix
- 1 egg
- 1 stick of butter (Don’t let it get TOO soft; it’ll make the mixture sticky and difficult to spread).
- Topping:
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 box confectioner’s sugar
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cake:
- Mix all ingredients and press into a 9”x13” glass baking dish ~ will be crumbly.
- Topping:
- Mix all ingredients well ~ will have a batter-like consistency.
- Pour on top of cake mixture.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes. Cake is done when center begins to firm and edges have a slight brownie-like appearance. It’s perfect when it’s a very light golden brown. DON’T OVERCOOK! It will finish firming as it cools.
- Cool for at least 15 minutes on a cooling rack before cutting.
