BBQ Brisket Mop Rub

- Mop Sauce: shopping list
- 3 quarts water shopping list
- 2 12 oz bottles non alcoholic beer shopping list
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke shopping list
- 1 tablespoon red hot pepper sauce shopping list
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon onion powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chili powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon paparika shopping list
- 3 tablespoons cider vinegar shopping list
- 1/4 cup molasses shopping list
- Rub: shopping list
- 2 tablespoons paprika shopping list
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chili powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon onion powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin shopping list
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground red pepper (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all indredients in a large 8 quart soup pot.
- Bring to a simmer over medium high heat,
- Yeilds one gallon.
- Take your beef brisket and add to mop simmering on stove.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3 hours. Add water as needed just to cover meat.
- After 3 hours remove meat from mop and place on a platter.
- Let brisket cool for 5 minutes.
- Using your finger tips, press 1/3 cup dry rub into both sides of warm brisket.
- Roast brisket on your grill for about 30 minutes on each side; basting with mop left over every 10 minutes.
- Let brisket stand for several minutes before slicing..
