Bbq Brisket Mop Rub Recipe

Ingredients

Mop Sauce:

3 quarts water

2 12 oz bottles non alcoholic beer

1 tablespoon liquid smoke

1 tablespoon red hot pepper sauce

1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon paparika

3 tablespoons cider vinegar

1/4 cup molasses

Rub:

2 tablespoons paprika

2 tablespoons dark brown sugar

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon freshly ground red pepper (optional)

Directions

Combine all indredients in a large 8 quart soup pot.

Bring to a simmer over medium high heat,

Yeilds one gallon.

Take your beef brisket and add to mop simmering on stove.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3 hours. Add water as needed just to cover meat.

After 3 hours remove meat from mop and place on a platter.

Let brisket cool for 5 minutes.

Using your finger tips, press 1/3 cup dry rub into both sides of warm brisket.

Roast brisket on your grill for about 30 minutes on each side; basting with mop left over every 10 minutes.

Let brisket stand for several minutes before slicing..
