Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Slice apples into thick slices.
  • In your cast-iron skillet (I like to use my 10-inch cast-iron skillet), melt butter.
  • Layers apple slices on top of the melted butter.
  • Sprinkle with rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Baked for approximately 20 to 30 minutes or until apples are tender when poked with a knife.
  • Remove from oven.
  • I came upon this recipe while I was checking out info on cast iron skillet cooking.

This is absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS! I have made this "5" fork recipe so many times when the children were young and you have reminded me of those fond memories. Thank you LittleMissey!
