Ttaaccoo / All my dishes 1 year ago
This recipe is from Elena Zelayeta's cookbook which was published in 1958. "Elena's Secrets of Mexican Cooking". I have used her recipes for guacamole and many other items, but have never deepfried anything.

TTaaccoo- OMG...thanks so much for this recipe....I used to eat sopapillas all the time when I lived in Albuquerque, but have not seen them anywhere else. I always thought it was so strange that they were served WITH the meal as opposed to after b/c they are sweet but I got used to the idea quickly!! LOL
Thanks so much for posting this!

Good morning, Trish! It's been a while but I love making Sopaipillas. They are just so good and puff up so sweetly. Thanks for the recipe and the inspiration. I'm going to make these again soon. High 5, GF! *hugs* Vickie
