Braised Beef Short Ribs

- 4 pounds meaty cut up beef short ribs shopping list
- 1 to 2 tbsps olive oil shopping list
- 2 coarsely chopped celery stalks shopping list
- 1 coarsely chopped carrot shopping list
- 1 chopped large onion shopping list
- 3-4 chopped plum tomatoes shopping list
- 4 cloves garlic minced shopping list
- 1 cup beef broth shopping list
- 1/2 cup dry red wine shopping list
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar shopping list
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary shopping list
- or 1 tsp dried rosemar shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- 2 tbsp flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- Season ribs with garlic powder and pepper
- Heat oil in large Dutch oven pot
- Add ribs
- Cook until browned and remove
- Add celery, carrot, onion, garlic and tomato
- Cook till tender
- Add wine, vinegar, broth, rosemary and bay leaf
- Return ribs to pan
- Cover and heat to boiling
- Cook on low heat till ribs are tender (about 4 hours)
- Or cook in 325 oven for 6 hours
- For thicken sauce
- Remove ribs and keep warm
- Mix flour and water and add to pan juices
- Cook and stir till boiling and thickens
- Serve with ribs
