How to make it

  • Season ribs with garlic powder and pepper
  • Heat oil in large Dutch oven pot
  • Add ribs
  • Cook until browned and remove
  • Add celery, carrot, onion, garlic and tomato
  • Cook till tender
  • Add wine, vinegar, broth, rosemary and bay leaf
  • Return ribs to pan
  • Cover and heat to boiling
  • Cook on low heat till ribs are tender (about 4 hours)
  • Or cook in 325 oven for 6 hours
  • For thicken sauce
  • Remove ribs and keep warm
  • Mix flour and water and add to pan juices
  • Cook and stir till boiling and thickens
  • Serve with ribs

    Made this a few months ago, and found the red wine overtook the sauce, but the next day it had mellowed and was the best beef I have had in a long time. I was looking for the recipe again today to make tomorrow on another site and couldn't find it, then I remembered where it was. So yes this is wonderfully good and in the making a second time around.
