Ginger Cookies
From grandmacooks 15 years agoIngredients
- 2/3 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- ¼ tsp molasses shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- ¼ tsp baking soda shopping list
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
- 2 ½ tsp ground ginger shopping list
- 1 tsp ground cloves shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and sugar, then add egg and molasses and beat well.
- Add dry ingredients and mix well.
- Roll 1/8 inch thick on slightly floured surface.
- Cut into desired shapes.
- Bake on slightly greased cookie sheet for 10 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.
- My notes: I have trouble handling this dough to roll it out—it always seems a little sticky. I roll it into logs, wrap with wax paper and chill in the freezer, then slice and bake.
- For holiday cookies, use shaped cookie cutters and decorate with colored sugar or as desired. Use your imagination.
