How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 450
  • Mix the flour and shortening with fork or pastry cutter until resembles coarse meal.
  • Add the buttermilk and stir until a dough forms.
  • Drop them by spoonfuls on to a greased baking sheet and cook in a 400ยบ oven for 15 minutes.
  • OR turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth, (maybe 6-8 times. I just keep folding it over into itself), pat out to about 1/2" thick and cut biscuits out with buiscuit cutter.
  • Bake at 400 about 15 minutes
