Quick Spaghetti Casserole Recipe
This is a great alternative to spaghetti with meat sauce. It is easy and the family will love this! serve with a small side salad, rolls or french bread and you have a wonderful meal!

Ingredients
  • 1 pound of cooked spaghetti noodles, drained and seasoned with a little salt and pepper.
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped fine
  • 1 cup celery, chopped fine
  • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped fine
  • 1 large jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce without meat
  • 1/3 cup burgundy wine
  • 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 8 oz. sliced mushrooms
  • 4 gloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz. small curd cottage cheese
  • salt and pepper

Directions
  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside.
  2. Saute' onions, celery,garlic, bell pepper, and mushrooms in butter until tender.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Drain fat.
  5. In large pot add together the sauce and ground beef mixture.
  6. Stir in wine and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  7. Season spaghetti with salt and pepper.
  8. Place 1/3 of the spaghetti in casserole dish.
  9. Top with 1/3 of the sauce.
  10. Spread cottage cheese over this layer.
  11. Top with another 1/3 of spaghetti.
  12. Spread 1/3 more of sauce over spaghetti noodle.
  13. Top with 1/2 of the cheddar and 1/2 of the Parmesan cheese.
  14. Continue with remaining layer of spaghetti, sauce and cheese.
  15. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.
