Here is the recipe, pasted from the link provided by Dione73:

Serve this on a toasted onion bun, spread with yellow mustard. If you wish, top with sharp cheddar cheese, sliced red onion, sliced tomato, few leaves of cilantro and drizzle with bbq sauce.

15 oz. can black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 red bell pepper, finely diced
1/2 small red onion, finely diced
    1 clove of garlic, minced
    1 egg
    1 T. chili powder
    1 t. chipotle powder
3/4 c. panko breadcrumbs (can use regular )

    Preheat grill.

In a medium bowl, mash the beans with a fork until paste like.

    Add chopped vegies.

    Crack egg over everything.

    Toss in your spices.

Mix slowly and incorporate panko until it takes form.

Divide into 5 equal portions and form patties.

    Wrap in tin foil.

Grill for 10 - 15 minutes until good crust forms on the outside.

Serve on bun with the fixings mentioned above.

This is where I found it when I googled the title. I tried lollya.com and it either doesn't exist or there's more to the site's url.

Hi david! nope they work right on the grill too. i'm just a veg-head so I like them meat gunk free. :) plus the olive helps form a crust. They should do fine on the grill and they can be pan-fried too. :)

So you actually cook them in the tin foil? Do they fall apart if you don't?

Mebrandy here. Tried the bean burgers last night and they were wonderful. I made 2 sauces; I crushed a Knorr's Chipolte mini bouillon in 1/2 light mayo and did the same with the Knorr's Cilantro mini bouillon. The sauces were a nice added flavor. P.S. The sauted peppers/onions worked great.

you most certainly could, sometimes when you saute they might reduce the moisture or add to it depending on how much olive oil you use. give it a try though, don't worry, this is a pretty versatile recipe. :)

Could I use peppers and onions that are already sauted?

Wow these sound wonderful, I love Veggie Burgers and Black Bean Burgers. I tried making them from other recipes but they weren't what I was looking for. This does sound very good, I will be trying them out as soon as I get all the ingredients, thanks so much for sharing your recipe. I'm new to this site, so still feeling myself around LOL
