Apple Turnovers

- 2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 tspn salt shopping list
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, cut into 1/2 " cubes shopping list
- 3/4 cup firm butter, cut into 1/2 " cubes shopping list
- 1 - 2 tbspn ice water shopping list
- 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling or topping shopping list
- Drizzle: shopping list
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar shopping list
- 1 tbspn milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 425F. Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet.
- Stir flour and salt together in a bowl, then cut in cream cheese and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Form pastry into a ball, adding water if necessary until it holds together. Shape into a flattened rectangle on floured surface. Roll out pastry to a 16 inch square, cut into 4 inch squares.
- Divide filling onto pastry squares. Moisten edges of each square and fold over to form a triangle. Place on baking sheet. Press edges with tines of a fork dipped in flour. Pierce tops to vent. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.
- Combine confectioners' sugar and milk in a small bowl and stir until smooth. Drizzle over tops of turnovers using a spoon. Serve warm.

I have never heard of a cream cheese pastry crust but I'm thinkin' it's going to become a favorite in our house, athome! You get my five for innovation. I make these today for breakfast! Thanks!
