Ingredients
  • cakes:
  • 2 cup Herman starter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp ginger
  • 2 each eggs
  • 13/4 cup walnuts
  • strusel:
  • 1 tb flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tb cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • Glaze:
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 Tb milk

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients and pour into a well greased and floured 9 inch baking dish.
  2. Top with strusel.
  3. Bake 35 minutes in 350 F oven. Surface will brown darkley if allowed. Keep surface color light.
  4. Remove from oven and places cakes on a rack to cool. Drizzle the glaze over the top when cool.
