Soft Ginger Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

1 pint half and half or cream

heaping 1/3 cup sugar

1 tsp pure vanilla

2 to 3 Tbs, finely chopped candied ginger

Directions

Dissolve the sugar in the half and half or cream by stirring and heating.

Do not boil.

Cool , add vanilla and chill in refrigerator.

Once well chilled, process in your ice cream maker according to instructions.

When forming a soft formed custard texture , add the ginger.

Then freeze well at least overnight

This will not freeze solid and it's texture is more like a soft custard.

You can still scoop it out. though

The flavor is wonderful

Makes a small amount but serve it with a small ice cream scoop and you should get at least 6 servings
