Soft Ginger Ice Cream

- 1 pint half and half or cream shopping list
- heaping 1/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp pure vanilla shopping list
- 2 to 3 Tbs, finely chopped candied ginger shopping list
How to make it
- Dissolve the sugar in the half and half or cream by stirring and heating.
- Do not boil.
- Cool , add vanilla and chill in refrigerator.
- Once well chilled, process in your ice cream maker according to instructions.
- When forming a soft formed custard texture , add the ginger.
- Then freeze well at least overnight
- This will not freeze solid and it's texture is more like a soft custard.
- You can still scoop it out. though
- The flavor is wonderful
- Makes a small amount but serve it with a small ice cream scoop and you should get at least 6 servings
