Wow a yummy caramel and chocolate candy who could resist these ........... so easy to make too.................. courtesy taste of home candy book

Ingredients
  • 1- package caramels unwrapped ( about 14 ounces)
  • 3- tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 - cups of chopped pecans
  • 1- cup crisp rice cereal....like ( rice krispies)
  • 3- cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 - teaspoons shortening

Directions
  1. Line 2 baking sheets with waxed paper, grease the paper and set aside.............
  2. in a large heavy saucepan , combine the caramels and water, cook and stir over low heat until smooth.
  3. stir in pecans and rice cereal until all is coated
  4. drop by teaspoonsfuls onto prepared pans
  5. refrigerate for 10 minutes or until firm....
  6. meanwhile melt chocolate chips and shortening , stir until smooth
  7. dip candy into chocolate coating entire candy.and place back onto waxed paper
  8. refrigerate until set
  9. then store in airtight containers................
  10. yields approx.. 2 pounds
