Wow a yummy caramel and chocolate candy who could resist these ........... so easy to make too.................. courtesy taste of home candy book
Ingredients
- 1- package caramels unwrapped ( about 14 ounces) shopping list
- 3- tablespoons water shopping list
- 1 1/2 - cups of chopped pecans shopping list
- 1- cup crisp rice cereal....like ( Rice Krispies) shopping list
- 3- cups milk chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 1/2 - teaspoons shortening shopping list
How to make it
- Line 2 baking sheets with waxed paper, grease the paper and set aside.............
- in a large heavy saucepan , combine the caramels and water, cook and stir over low heat until smooth.
- stir in pecans and rice cereal until all is coated
- drop by teaspoonsfuls onto prepared pans
- refrigerate for 10 minutes or until firm....
- meanwhile melt chocolate chips and shortening , stir until smooth
- dip candy into chocolate coating entire candy.and place back onto waxed paper
- refrigerate until set
- then store in airtight containers................
- yields approx.. 2 pounds
