Pear Nutmeg Cheese Pie

Ingredients
- Crust ........ shopping list
- 1 1/4- cups butter cookie crumbs ( any butter cookies crushed) shopping list
- 3- tablespoon unsalted butter, melted shopping list
- *************************************** shopping list
- FILLING........... shopping list
- 1- package ( 8 ounce) cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 1- cup small curd cottage cheese , drained shopping list
- 3/4- cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 2- eggs shopping list
- 3/4- cup chopped pears.................( i like the bartlett pears ) shopping list
- 2- teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg shopping list
- 2- teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- whipped cream topping your choice i like the fresh whipping cream but you can use what you want and like.......... shopping list
How to make it
- Crust........
- ina bowl , combine cookie crumbs and butter mix and press into bottom and sides of a 9inch pie plate and freeze........
- filling ...............
- in a mixer bowl fitted with an paddle attachment , beat cream cheese, cottage cheese and sugar on med- high speed until very smooth for about 3 minutes
- add eggs, one at a time beating after each addition
- fold in pear, nutmeg and vanilla..........
- pour over frozen crust , smoothing out to the sides of the pie plate.
- bake in preheated oven 325 degrees f. for 25- 35 minutes, until top is light brown and center has a slight jiggle to it
- let cool in pan on a wire rack for 2 hours
- cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours before decorating or serving
- decoration...............
- ice top of pie with whipped cream or pipe rosettes around the top of the pie ........
- .serves 6
- variation......... you can also use fresh or canned peaches in place of the pears if you like ............
