Pear Nutmeg Cheese Pie Recipe

Ingredients

Crust ........

1 1/4- cups butter cookie crumbs ( any butter cookies crushed)

3- tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

***************************************

FILLING...........

1- package ( 8 ounce) cream cheese, softened

1- cup small curd cottage cheese , drained

3/4- cup granulated sugar

2- eggs

3/4- cup chopped pears.................( i like the bartlett pears )

2- teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

2- teaspoon vanilla

whipped cream topping your choice i like the fresh whipping cream but you can use what you want and like..........

Directions

Crust........

ina bowl , combine cookie crumbs and butter mix and press into bottom and sides of a 9inch pie plate and freeze........

filling ...............

in a mixer bowl fitted with an paddle attachment , beat cream cheese, cottage cheese and sugar on med- high speed until very smooth for about 3 minutes

add eggs, one at a time beating after each addition

fold in pear, nutmeg and vanilla..........

pour over frozen crust , smoothing out to the sides of the pie plate.

bake in preheated oven 325 degrees f. for 25- 35 minutes, until top is light brown and center has a slight jiggle to it

let cool in pan on a wire rack for 2 hours

cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours before decorating or serving

decoration...............

ice top of pie with whipped cream or pipe rosettes around the top of the pie ........

.serves 6

variation......... you can also use fresh or canned peaches in place of the pears if you like ............
