Ingredients

4 yellow squash washed and sliced lengthways shopping list
2 cups yellow corn meal shopping list
3 tablespoons granulated sugar shopping list
1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
1/4 cup vegetable oil shopping list

How to make it

Mix corn meal, sugar, salt and pepper together and dredge each squash in mixture.
Pour oil in heavy pot and heat until hot then add squash and pan fry until golden brown.

Wow these were good! I did dip them in an egg wash before the cornmeal mix just to make sure the crust stuck. These are perfect and simple :) Southern Fried Squash Patties
