Sour Cream And Lemon Soda Biscuits Recipe
SOUR CREAM AND LEMON LIME SODA BISCUITS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Ottemeyer Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1992.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups all purpose baking mix mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 6 ounces lemon lime soda

Directions
  1. Mix sour cream into baking mix.
  2. Using a pastry blender or two table knives until mixture is crumbly.
  3. Add soda all at once then stir quickly with a large fork.
  4. Turn out onto lightly floured board and quickly knead 8 times.
  5. Do not over mix or biscuits will be tough then pat into a square.
  6. Cut into 18 equal pieces using a knife dipped in flour.
  7. Preheat oven to 400 and cook biscuits 7 minutes.

I am a major biscuit lover, and I've got the knack for mixing the dough just enough. There were days when the kids were small that we were down to flour, lard, and powdered milk. My children would proudly take my biscuits to school. These sound absolutely divine. I'd make my own biscuit mix, though.
