Three Way Barbecue Sauce

- 1 cup ketchup shopping list
- 1 cup pork, beef, or chicken stock (choose according to meat selected for bbq) shopping list
- 1 medium onion, minced shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- juice of 3 lemons shopping list
- zest of 1 lemon (optional) shopping list
- 2 tbs bacon drippings shopping list
- 2 tbs prepared mustard shopping list
- 1 tbs Worceshtershire sauce shopping list
- 1 tbs red wine vinegar shopping list
How to make it
- Heat bacon drippings in a heavy saucepan. Saute the onion until it browns, stir in garlic towards the end,.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, stir and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring a time or two until the sauce is thick as you like it.
- Use warm for basting and as a dipping sauce for the cooked meat.
- Variation: For ribs try adding 2 or 3 tbs of dark brown sugar to the sauce duing the simmering period.

Sounds great! My son is trying to come up with his "own" BBQ sauce recipe and I told him to start off with this one and play with it. (I will use it just as you have posted it!!)
