Chocolate Snapper Cookies

- 1/2 cup butter or margarine. softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 egg yolk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- 72 pecan halves (2/3 cup) shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 1-ounce square unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- 1 cup sifted powdered sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
How to make it
- Cream first 2 ingredients
- Beat in egg yolk and 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Add flour; mix well.
- Cover; chill
- Shape dough into 24 balls
- On ungreased cookie sheet, place each ball atop 3 pecans arranged to resemble turtle candies
- Bake at 375 about 10 minutes.
- Carefully remove from pan to cooling rack
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter with chocolate over low heat; stir constantly.
- Remove from heat; stir in remaining ingredients
- Add 2 tablespoons boiling water; beat smooth.
- Spread frosting atop cookies
- Makes 2 dozen .....depending on the size you roll it.
