- 3 cups flour shopping list
- 4 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 3/4 tsp cream of tartar shopping list
- 2 1/2 Tbs sugar shopping list
- 3/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 3/4 cup butter (or margarine) shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Set oven to 450
- Grease a baking sheet generously.
- In a medium sized bowl; mix your flour, baking powder, tartar, salt and sugar.
- Cut in the butter/margarine into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
- In a seperate cup or bowl, beat the egg lightly into the milk.
- Add the mixed liquid to the dry ingredients and mix with a fork until the dough JUST holds together.
- Onto a floured board or counter, turn the dough out and knead lightly.
- Roll the dough out with a floured rolling pin into a slab that is one inch thick. Remember to work quickly so the butter or margarine stays cool.
- Cut with a biscuit cutter.
- Bake 12 minutes.
