12 Bears Casserole Recipe
This recipe serves 20!! I usually halve this recipe and put it in 2-8x8" Pans. I freeze 1, and prepare the 2nd for dinner.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 lb hamburger
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery & Leaves, chopped
  • 3 large carrots, grated
  • 2 (3oz) cans Italian-style diced tomatoes
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (I used 1/2 tsp minced garlic for my 1/2 recipe)
  • 24 oz macaroni (I used 10 oz wide egg noodles for my 1/2 recipe)
  • 2 pkgs frozen spinach, thawed not drained
  • (I also added 1 30oz jar spaghetti sauce, as it seemed to need it)

Directions
  1. 1. Brown ground beef in dutch oven; Drain.
  2. 2. Return to pan; Add onion, celery, and carrots.
  3. 3. Cook 5 minutes.
  4. 4. Stir in tomatoes, salt, oregano, pepper, garlic, and spaghetti sauce.
  5. 5. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered 1 hour.
  6. 6. Cook noodles according to directions and set aside.
  7. 7. After sauce is done, stir in pasta and spinach.
  8. 8. Mix thoroughly.
  9. 9. Put in (2) 9x13" Pans, and sprinkle with enough parmesan to cover.
  10. 10. Cover, label, and freeze.
  11. 11. To serve, thaw completely and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

This looks great! Serves 20? This might be about right as it is for my family. I have 4 boys, 3 are teenagers. I've learned never to start the serving dishes at their end of the table or there may not be anything left when it gets past them.


Another fantastic recipe, my friend! I like the idea of putting half in the freezer for another time or cooking all for a family get together.


Love it! Saving this one to try.
