Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a small pot melt the butter when hot, add the vegetables and cook until tender.
  • Sprinkle the flour in the pan and stir to mix thoroughly.
  • Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Lower heat and let simmer 15 minutes.
  • Add the cream or half and half and heat almost to boiling. Taste and correct seasoning.
  • Serve or thicken with more flour to make a sauce.

    This is a great recipe. I always feel guilty using canned soup --(too much salt) in recipes. I don't always have cream in my frig but I found the evaporated milk makes a good substitute
