This used to be one of my very favorite sandwiches when we went to lunch at the Jarrettown Hotel nearby. Theirs was served with warm raspberry preserves but I also like what spryte at BakeSpace has done with the sauce!

This sounds great! I too used to go to the Jarrettown...I loved their Baked Brie appetizer...fruit bread and Brie..it was almost a meal! Are they still in business? I was just thinking about that place the other day!
Can not wait to try this sandwich!

Actually, tillia, they were shut down for quite a long time to get new owners and to renovate. They reopened about 3 weeks ago but the menu is nothing like it was.. alas, no more Monte Cristos! They are also a bit pricier than they were. I know this only because we received a menu in the mail..
