  • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand 10 minutes.
  • In a 2 qt. glass, ceramic,plastic or gallon size baggie, combine flour and sugar, mix well, slowly stir in milk and yeast mixture. cover loosely and let stand until bubbly. This is DAY1
  • Days 2- 5 stir with wooden spoon
  • Days 6 - Add 1 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. milk. STIR
  • Days 7 - 9 Stir with wooden spoon
  • Day 10 Add 1 c. fllour, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. milk. STIR
  • Take out 3 cups and put 1 c. of batter into 3 separate containers.
  • Give away to friends with a copy of recipe
  • To the balance of batter add:
  • 1 c. oil
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teas. vanilla
  • In a separate bowl combine dry ingredients and mix well:
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 teas baking powder
  • 2 teas cinnamon
  • 1/2 te4as baking soda
  • 1/2 teas salt
  • 1 large box of pudding ( optional )
  • 1 c. nuts ( optional )
  • Add dry ingredients to wet and mix well. Pour into 2 well buttered and sugared bread pans. Bake 325 degrees for 1 hour

    I have a recipe similar to this one, and it's one to treasure! I call it a "never ending recipe". Once you start making this bread, you have to keep either giving away extra startes to your friends, or making new loaves of bread! Very unique recipe, thanks!

    I have a copy of this isn't it wonderful to share with friends. Imagine having a recipe hundreds of years old that was passed down through the ages along with the actual genes from the mother recipe.
