How to make it

  • Preheat oven to hot, 200 d C. Line an oven tray with baking paper. Use an electric mixer to beat the spread, sugar and egg-yolk for 4 minutes or until light and fluffy. Stir in the almond meal and flour.
  • Cut filo sheets in half crossways, and spray each sheet with oil. Stack the sheets to make one retangular stack. Place pastry on the tray and spread the almond mixture. Fold the pastry edges in to make a border.
  • Bake galette for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Serve dusted with icing sugar.
