How to make it

  • Preheat oil in a deep-fryer or Dutch oven to 360
  • Chili sauce
  • Combine mayonnaise, chili sauce, chili powder, and cayenne in mixing bowl and stir well
  • Cover and chill until serving time
  • Onion Rings
  • Slice onions into very thin rings and separate rings
  • On baking sheet, spread out and sprinkle with seasoned salt
  • Put flour in resealable plastic bag
  • Put the onion rings in the bag in batches, close tightly, and shake until coated
  • Fry onion rings in batches for 3- 4 minutes, until they are brown and crispy (Only took me 2-3 minutes)
  • Remove with tongs and drain on paper towels
  • Taste and season with salt, if necessary

    I never did like the heavy batter on onions rings. These sound like they fry up nice and crisp. The Chile sauce sounds wonderful too... Saving this to my must try recipe box...;-)~~~

    I'll be doing this one soon. I love onion rings, and the 6 yr. old loves them, too! She'll have to have some ranch to dip hers in. LOL

    hey, no batter! hmmm...interesting and easy one here. i'll have to try this. hubby eats onion rings, but bratchild won't touch 'em. oh well, more for us! lol --Kn0x--

    I'm under the weather today and my stomach's a little queezy. But after reading this recipe, I want to go fry up some onion rings. This will be the first thing I eat when I'm all better. Thanks for sharing. :)
