Fried Cabbage

- 3 slices bacon, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped shopping list
- 6 cups cabbage, cut into thin wedges shopping list
- 2 tablespoons water shopping list
- 1 pinch white sugar shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar shopping list
How to make it
- Place bacon in a large, deep skillet.
- Cook over medium high heat until evenly browned and crisp.
- Remove bacon and set aside.
- Cook onion in the hot bacon grease until tender.
- Add cabbage.
- Stir in water, sugar, salt and pepper.
- Cook until cabbage wilts, about 15 minutes.
- Stir in bacon.
- Splash with vinegar before serving OR serve with vinegar on the side.

Love this one,I have made fried cabage for years. Now why didn't I ever think of adding bacon. Man throw in some buttered noodles and I bet you would have the best Halushki ever. 5

Sounds great! We do something similar with brussels sprouts! We shred them like cabbage and then do what you have done and at the last minute - a squeeze of lime juice!
