Door County Cherry Muffins

- 4 cups flour shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 3 cups frozen & rinsed Door County cherries ( any brand will be fine) shopping list
- 1 cup butter (melted) shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- TOPPING shopping list
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1/3 cup soft butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Combine dry ingredients and blend.
- In separate bowl, toss 1 tbs. of dry ingredients with cherries.
- In a large bowl, mix butter, milk, eggs and vanilla. Then add dry ingredients and stir until well moistened. Stir in cherries.
- Spoon batter into muffin tins to about 3/4 full and sprinkle with topping mixture. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen muffins.
- Optional topping - sprinkle with suger.
