Turkey Picadillo and Sofrito Rice

- 2 tbsp of vegetable oil shopping list
- 20 oz. of ground turkey meat, 93 lean 7 fat. shopping list
- 1 large onion, minced shopping list
- 4 cloves of garlic minced shopping list
- 1 4 ounce can of tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup of red wine shopping list
- 1 tsp of cumin shopping list
- 1/3 tsp of thyme shopping list
- 1/2 tsp of black pepper shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup of raisins shopping list
- 1/2 cup of chopped green olives shopping list

- 2 tbsp of vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 large onion chopped fine shopping list
- 1/2 yellow pepper chopped fine shopping list
- 1/2 red pepper chopped fine shopping list
- 2 stalks of celery chopped fine shopping list
- 3 cloves of garlic chopped fine shopping list
- 1 cup of medium grain rice shopping list
- 2 tbsp of parsley flakes shopping list
- 1 tsp of salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp of pepper shopping list
- 1 can of chicken stock shopping list
- 1/2 cup of water shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of thyme shopping list
How to make it
- In one saute pan, heat oil, brown turkey meat.
- Add onion, garlic, saute five minutes.
- add wine, tomato sauce, herbs and spices.
- Simmer on low while the rice cooks.
- Add raisins and olives and heat ten minutes.

- In a second pan, heat oil and saute onion, peppers,celery, garlic
- (sofrito) until tender.
- Add rice and toast lightly.
- Add broth, water and seasonings.
- Cover tightly and reduce heat to low and cook twenty minutes.

- Serve picadilllo over rice.
