Grandmas Banana Pudding Recipe
Amazing banana cream pudding my grandmother used to make. Takes some time to make, but it is amazing.

Ingredients
  • 3 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • dash salt
  • 3 eggs (seperated)
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla (divided)
  • 6 medium bananas
  • 1/4 cup sugar plus 2 tbsp
  • 1 (12oz) pkg vanilla wafers

Directions
  1. Combine the flour, 1 1/3 cup sugar and salt in a heavy saucepan.
  2. Beat the egg yolks.
  3. Combine the egg yolks and milk, mixing well.
  4. Stir in the dry ingredients.
  5. Cook over a medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened.
  6. Remove from the heat.
  7. Stir in one tsp vanilla.
  8. Layer 1/3 of vanilla wafers into a deep baking dish.
  9. Slice the bananas, and layer over the wafers.
  10. Pour 1/3 of filling over the bananas.
  11. Repeat twice more.
  12. Beat the egg whites until foaming. Gradually add the remaining sugar, 1 tsp at a time, beating until peaks form. Add 1 tsp of vanilla and beat until blended.
  13. Spread the meringue over the filling.
  14. Bake at 425 degrees F for 10-12 minutes.
