Spicy Chipotle Turkey Burgers Recipe

Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh cilantro

2 chipotle chilis in adobo sauce, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon season salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

shredded mozzarella cheese

4 hamburger buns

Directions

Preheat outdoor grill for medium high heat and lightly oil grate.

Mix all ingredients through the pepper and form into 8 patties.

Put as much mozzarella cheese as you want on top of one patty - put a second patty on top and seal the edges so you have a cheese filled center. Do for remaining 6 patties.

Cook hamburgers on preheated grill until turkey is no longer pink - about 4 minutes per side.

Serve on toasted buns with lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc.

***Note: I used an indoor grill and it took about 7 minutes to cook the burgers

****Optional: you can use some of the adobo sauce to spice up your condiments. I added some to hummus and used that instead of mayo - delicious!!!
