Ingredients
  • *1 pkg butter recipe cake mix
  • * 4 eggs
  • * 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
  • * 3/4 cup oil
  • * 1/2 cup sugar
  • * 1/4 cup milk
  • * 1 tsp. vanilla
  • * 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • * Frosting
  • * 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • * 1/4 cup butter
  • * 1 can chocolate frosting

Directions
  1. Combine cake mix, eggs, bananas, oil, sugar, milk and vanilla. Beat at low speed for 30 seconds. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Bake at 350 degrees in 2- 9 inch greased and floured layer pans for 33-38 minutes. While cake is baking, place 1 cup chopped nuts and butter in skillet. Cook on medium heat, stirring until nuts are toasted. Stir into frosting. Cool. Frost cake.
  2. Note: I haven't made this yet...but I think I'd make it in a 9"x13" pan and frost with cream cheese frosting....that would be my preference. (baking time would vary, of course) Sounds so delicious!!

Mmmm sounds easy & delicious. I love the toasted nuts too!

Yes, this does sound easy and delicious!

Made something similar to this many times, and it's a wonderful cake. And I did use the cream cheese frosting. Thanks for a great post, going to try it with these measurements for sure, sounds delish...^5

DO YA THINK I CAN MAKE THIS IN A BUNDT PAN?

A bundt pan.....you know, I considered that myself. I didn't mention it, but before I was through I would eventually be trying it. What do others think? All of mine are the big 10" ones....maybe the smaller ones? Or would it make any difference? I'd have to see how it bakes up before I could make a decision. - Linda

Linda-I think a bundt would work just fine; a tube pan also. The bundts make a pretty cake but I use a tube, or stem, pan so I won't have so much "surface". Either pan would work equally as well, I think! Always used a 9x13, so that works for sure...lol!
